Boys’ School OFSTED Inspection Report
The Foundation is extremely proud to share the ‘outstanding’ results of the April 2025 OFSTED inspection at the Central Foundation Boys’ School.
OFSTED inspected the provision of the Boys’ School across five areas; quality of education, behaviour and attitudes; personal development, leadership and the sixth form. OFSTED judged the school to be outstanding n all areas.
Stephen Brown, Chair of the Foundation spoke for the board of Trustees when he said, ‘The Foundation Board sincerely congratulates everyone involved in delivering this outcome, including, of course, the pupils.
This result reflects the collaboration and support of a large community. It is testament to the passion, dedication, expertise and leadership abilities of the Central Foundation Boys’ School staff team and Head, Jamie Brownhill.’
The report highlights the exceptional outcome Foundation students regularly attain:
‘A high proportion of students successfully study at prestigious universities and pursue degree apprenticeships.’
We are equally proud of the entire students’ journey alongside this outcome. A rounded and enriching academic and extracurricular experience is at the heart of every experience for each student who enrols with us. The thoughtfulness with which the entire educational experience has been created is justly commented by OFSTED:
‘Pupils’ personal and social development is exceptionally well supported in breadth and quality. Pupils are encouraged strongly to pursue their talent or academic interest within and beyond the curriculum.’
Chief Executive Sarah Gosling sums up our ambition with her words: ‘As a Foundation our focus is on an exceptional education for every student, so we are delighted that Central Foundation Boys School has been recognised for the outstanding education it provides across its whole provision.’
