Central Foundation Schools of London CEO Sarah Gosling steps down
Central Foundation Schools of London Chief Executive Sarah Gosling has shared the news she is stepping down later this year after three years in her role at the Foundation.
Central Foundation Schools of London (CFSL) is an educational charity established in 1863. Today, the Foundation supports two London schools, Central Foundation Boys’ School in Islington and Central Foundation Girls’ School in Tower Hamlets.
Sarah is the Foundation’s first CEO and was appointed by the board of trustees in April 2023 following her initial 9-month engagement as a transition consultant.
Sarah says, ‘I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together. With the board of trustees, we’ve refreshed the governance structures, modernised our process and established a clear executive function. I was privileged to be asked to become the Foundation’s first CEO and establish a new strategy, moving from merely administering money to being much more collaborative charity working closely with the schools with a clear focus on supporting every single student to fulfil their potential. We’re about to finish our major buildings and redevelopment programmes and launch a new Student Opportunities Programme. With further exciting projects ahead it’s the right time for a new CEO to come in and shape the next stage of the Foundation’s development.’
Stephen Brown, Chair of the Board, says, ‘The Foundation is indebted to Sarah’s commitment to helping us shape CFSL into an organisation that can unlock the opportunities for the generations of young people to come. She has achieved a huge amount in a short space of time, and we wish her well and are excited to see what she does next.’
CFSL is working with Peridot Partners recruitment agency to find and appoint a permanent CEO. Prospective applicants can find out more here.
