Central Foundation Schools of London Appoints Sarah Nuzum as Chief Executive Officer

The Board of Trustees of Central Foundation Schools of London (CFSL) is delighted to announce the appointment of Sarah Nuzum as its new Chief Executive Officer. This leadership change marks an exciting new chapter for the historic educational charity, which supports two excellent schools in inner London: Central Foundation Boys’ School in Islington and Central Foundation Girls’ School in Tower Hamlets.

Central Foundation Schools of London is an educational charity established by the Reverend William Rogers in the City of London in 1863. The two schools have a rich history which intertwines with many aspects of the wider story of London’s east end and related social history.  The Foundation supports both schools to ensure provision of an exceptional Central Foundation education, where very student learns, develops and grows so they can reach their full potential.

Sarah Nuzum brings a wealth of experience in education and charity leadership, with a strong commitment to advancing opportunities for young people. As CEO, she will develop and oversee the Foundation’s strategic vision, governance, and development initiatives, ensuring that the Foundation continues to deliver exceptional support to over 2,500 students.

Sarah Nuzum said:

"I am honoured to lead Central Foundation Schools of London and build on its remarkable legacy and delighted to have been given such an opportunity.  Our mission is to empower every student to thrive academically and personally, and I look forward to working with our schools and partners to make that vision a reality."

Stephen Brown, Chair of the Board of Trustees,

We are thrilled to welcome Sarah as Chief Executive. Her proven leadership experience across both education and the charity sector will be invaluable as the foundation enters this new chapter.  I am hugely grateful to Sarah Gosling, our outgoing CEO for her tireless commitment to helping us position Central Foundation Schools of London into an organisation ready to seize new opportunities in support of future generations of young people.”
