Central Foundation Schools of London Launches New Student Opportunities Programme
January 2026
Central Foundation Schools of London is excited to announce the launch of its Student Opportunities Programme, a major initiative designed to expand existing careers and aspirations-raising opportunities for over 2,600 students across both schools.
This programme marks the Foundation’s first formal collaboration with both schools and responds to its strategic priority to enhance support for students. Working alongside both schools, the 18-month pilot will deliver a structured, strategic approachto developing high-quality work experience, employer encounters, career insight opportunities and enrichment activity. It will be positioned directly to support both schools to respond to the latest changes to the Gatsby Benchmarks and further strengthen their existing careers offers.
To achieve this, The Foundation is delighted to have appointed Ekaete Alfred to oversee the project. She will set up and manage delivery of the programme, develop a monitoring and evaluation framework and ensure the programme is uniquely tailored to the meet the needs of each school.
The programme will:
Design and deliver a structured student opportunities framework across both schools, including work experience, employer encounters and career insight activities.
Develop a repeatable programme of speakers, panels and enrichment events that broaden students’ understanding of pathways and sectors.
Build and sustain meaningful partnerships with employers, cultural organisations and external partners to widen students’ career horizons and access to opportunities.
Sarah Nuzum, Chief Executive of Central Foundation Schools of London, said:
“For over 150 years, the Foundation has supported both schools and today, this support continues in a new and exciting way. This programme is about enhancing the existing provision in both schools to give every student access to meaningful opportunities that raise aspirations and prepare them for the future. I am delighted to have Ekaete on board to lead this exciting new chapter. By leveraging our networks and resources, we aim to create a lasting impact on students’ educational and career journeys.”
